The Burrell Observatory is proud to host an open house program on Friday April 12, 2019 at 7:30 PM.  Dr. Patrick Burrell, Distinguished professor of physics at Youngstown State University will present a lecture on how stars and clusters of stars are ripped from their home galaxies. Intergalactic stars are thought to have originated in galaxies like other stars, but later expelled as the result of either colliding galaxies or of a multiple star system travelling too close to a supermassive black hole. The lecture will be presented in the “Center for Innovation and Growth” (CIG) 340 Front Street Berea.
