The Burrell Observatory is proud to host an open house program on Friday September 07, 2018 at 7:30 PM. Dr. Jillian Scudder assistant professor of physics at Oberlin College will present a lecture on galaxy collisions. Galaxies exist in clusters, and, as a result, they occasionally “collide”. In fact the Milky Way galaxy has collided with a number of smaller galaxies. What happens during these collisions will be the topic of Dr. Scudder’s lecture.
