Who is sponsoring this technical challenge?

Spearheaded by Ohio Aerospace Institute (OAI) and Milwaukee 7 (M7) Economic Development Partnership, we are introducing a pilot program as part of the Midwest Innovation Exchange (MIE) Project called MIE SBIR Tech Expertise Sessions.  This pilot project will provide a new, collaborative approach for national laboratories and small businesses to bridge the Phase II to Phase III SBIR commercialization gap(s) and accelerate small businesses innovation.

OAI Names Dr. John M. Sankovic as President and CEO

OAI’s board of trustees today announced the appointment of Dr. John Sankovic as president and CEO effective September 24. When he takes the helm, Sankovic plans to prioritize fostering partnerships and driving research from university laboratories to Ohio’s industrial aerospace manufacturers.

Biocene 2018 – Success!

August 14– 17 marked the 3rd Annual Biomimicry Summit, Biocene 2018, hosted by OAI, NASA and Great Lakes Biomimicry. With great success, the four day event included guest speakers, presentations, activities, a NASA GRC tour, networking, live animals, and much more. Biomimicry is the study of nature by way of design and relating it to innovation and technology. Velcro, Japan’s Bullet Train, and the Wright brothers wing design for flight; all stemmed from the study of plants and animals.

OAI Awarded $778,000

Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) announced on October 3, 2017 that a $778,352 Economic Development Administration was awarded to the Ohio Aerospace Institute. This award will help establish a partnership with other funds going to partners in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to focus on developing innovative, new technology in aerospace and water resources.
